Roy Arauz (Director)

Roy ArauzRoy is thrilled to revisit Lawfully Wedded with most of the original team and some excellent new voices. With a background dance, choreography, and stage management, he has worked in various capacities at ArtsWest, Balagan Theatre, The Driftwood Players, Latino Theatre Projects, SecondStory Repertory, and Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theatre among others. Recent directing credits include the bilingual touring production of La Mariposa (Book•It Repertory), 14/48: Outdoors, Life is a Dream (Ghost Light Theatricals) and the regional premieres of The Temperamentals and The Hen Night Epiphany (Arouet). He will spend part of his summer at the 2015 Lincoln Center Director’s Lab in New York City. He founded Arouet in 2011 and has served as Artistic Director since; a role he is stepping down from in June to focus on directing.


Mariajosé Barrera (Director)

MariaJose BarreraMariajosé had her first introduction to being an active theatre member presenting an original monologue for the Latino Theater Projects. She has since been able to be a part of Anna in the Tropics and Lawfully Wedded. Work she has done with the Arouet family includes assistant directing The Hen Night Epiphany and The Long Road and producing The Temperamentals, The Brick and The Rose, and Don Juan in Chicago. She is excited to continue working with Arouet and to revisit Lawfully Wedded as a director for our reading.

Greg Brisendine (Poet)

Greg Brisendine (Poet)Greg is an actor, playwright and poet in Seattle and is really happy for this encore performance of Lawfully Wedded! It was an amazing experience to contribute to this important work. He writes and performs on poetry slam stages across North America and is increasingly focusing on writing for the stage and acting.


Daniel Cords (Original Concept/Research)

Daniel CordsDanny is passionate about theatre and education and is ecstatic when the two combine. Working on and off stage, Danny was last seen on stage performing the title role in a touring production of Andrew Lippa’s I Am Harvey Milk. Most recently, Danny directed Andrew Lippa and Rachel DeShon in The Seattle Men’s Chorus production of Legacy, which featured Lippa’s oratorio, I Am Harvey Milk. Danny is thrilled to be associated with Arouet and the powerful work they produce. Danny wants to thank Roy, Mariajose, John, Joshua, and the entire Arouet team for their relentless dedication and hard work.


Bruce Erickson (Actor)

Bruce EricksonWOW! I am so pleased and excited to be involved with the Lawfully Wedded project again. I enjoyed the process before of helping to create a wonderful piece of theatre, and now a chance to be performing it again, is just icing on the cake. Most recently Bruce was seen on as Edna Turnblatt in Hairspray. Bruce has been a part of the theatre community for over 30 years, having appeared in productions up and down the Northwest I-5 corridor. I am tremendously pleased to have this opportunity to work with Roy, the production team and this AWESOME cast again! It is important to stand up and be counted on such an important issue. In a small way we are here and are a part of the current changing history. As always a BIG thank you to my friends and family, especially my son Noah, who lets me play dress up with the BIG KIDS!


Caitlin Gilman (Playwright)

Caitlin GilmanCaitlin Gilman is a local playwright and actress. Past productions include an adaptation of Calderon’s Life is a Dream at Ghostlight Theatricals, J.D Salinger is My God, which won the audience favorite award at Stone Soup’s “Outside the Box” festival, and Pretty Girls (co-written with Opal Peachey and Elizabeth Tanner). Look for her full length play My Dear Miss Chancellor at Annex Theatre this fall. She is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts.


Jared Holloway-Thomas (Actor)

Jared Holloway-ThomasJared is a classically trained actor who attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He recently appeared in Arouet’s production of The Long Road and will be appearing in Green Stage’s Much Ado About Nothing this summer. Jared Holloway-Thomas has had a lifelong passion for theatre and hugs. He is thrilled to be rejoining Arouet.


Joshua Jon (Director)

Joshua JonJoshua is the incoming artistic director for Arouet, as well as a director, playwright, and singer-actor. He is currently directing Sidewinders with Fantastic Z, a transgender-existential-western-comedy performing at the Hugo House in July. Recent directing credits include Arouet’s Don Juan in Chicago, co-directing Seattle Immersive Theatre’s Supraliminal, and assistant directing Ghostlight Theatrical’s Life is a Dream. This year, you may have also seen his short plays Ballad of Mary Jo (Medicine Ball, Seattle Theatre Works) and Lulz (Fantastic Z).


Addie Keller (Actor)

Addie Keller (Actor)Addie is thrilled to be working with Arouet for this special remount. Her past productions with Arouet include The Brick and the Rose and Lawfully Wedded. She has also been in A Christmas Carol at Auburn Ave Theatre and created several original works with her company Mirum Mirum Productions, (dis)Order and Doughnut Holes. Currently she is getting her Masters in Teaching for Elementary Education at UW where she will graduate this June. She hopes you enjoy the show and as always, thanks to her mother, father and sister for their continual support in her artistic endeavors.


Idalia Limón (Actor)

Idalia Limon (Actor)Idalia is happy to work again with the wonderful cast and crew of Lawfully Wedded. She has been keeping busy doing voice overs, local commercials, and short films. Her acting training background include UANL in her native México, AADA in NY and Freehold Theater in Seattle. She loves old school rollerskating and expressing herself through writing.


Morgan Ludlow (Playwright)

Morgan Ludlow (Playwright)Morgan is the recipient of the 2013 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Original Script for his play, GORGEOUS HUSSY: An Interview with Joan Crawford. Morgan has produced more than 30 productions in the past 15 years. In 2008 he founded Wily West Productions in San Francisco and his play, RUTH AND THE SEA was listed as one of the of “Best Productions of 2010” by the SF Bay Times & KQED. Last year Wily West won the Theatre Bay Area Award for Best World Premiere. He has served as the Producing Director for the Playwrights Center of San Francisco. Morgan is currently the Artistic Director for Pacific Play Company here in Seattle while also running Wily West Productions in San Francisco. He is a member of Theatre Bay Area, Theatre Puget Sound and the Dramatists Guild of America.


Carissa Meisner-Smit (Actor)

Carissa Meisner SmitCarissa has recently appeared onstage with the Driftwood Players, Seattle Fringe Festival, Second Story Repertory, The Phoenix, and Arouet. Favorite roles include Thelma (Lark Eden), Debra (Kimberly Akimbo), Genevra (Bright Ideas), and Velma (Chicago). She is also an active director and choreographer as well as producer.


Lisa Marie Nakamura (Actor)

Lisa Marie NakamuraLisa Marie is happy to be a part of Lawfully Wedded 2015. She is an Executive Producer for SIS Productions and was last seen in their production of Impenetrable. Currently she is producing SIS Productions’ next project, Paper Angels by Genny Lim which will be opening in August. Lisa Marie would like to thank Arouet for all the good work they do and for letting her play. Thank you Roy and Joshua for their direction and to the wonderful cast.


Gabriel Sedgemore (Actor)

Gabriel SedgemoreGabriel is more than excited to be part of Lawfully Wedded again, even if for one night. It’s great to be back with some of the original cast and be working with new actors on such eye opening and heart-warming original plays.
