Roy Arauz (Director)
Roy is thrilled to revisit Lawfully Wedded with most of the original team and some excellent new voices. With a background dance, choreography, and stage management, he has worked in various capacities at ArtsWest, Balagan Theatre, The Driftwood Players, Latino Theatre Projects, SecondStory Repertory, and Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theatre among others. Recent directing credits include the bilingual touring production of La Mariposa (Book•It Repertory), 14/48: Outdoors, Life is a Dream (Ghost Light Theatricals) and the regional premieres of The Temperamentals and The Hen Night Epiphany (Arouet). He will spend part of his summer at the 2015 Lincoln Center Director’s Lab in New York City. He founded Arouet in 2011 and has served as Artistic Director since; a role he is stepping down from in June to focus on directing.
Mariajosé Barrera (Director)
Mariajosé had her first introduction to being an active theatre member presenting an original monologue for the Latino Theater Projects. She has since been able to be a part of Anna in the Tropics and Lawfully Wedded. Work she has done with the Arouet family includes assistant directing The Hen Night Epiphany and The Long Road and producing The Temperamentals, The Brick and The Rose, and Don Juan in Chicago. She is excited to continue working with Arouet and to revisit Lawfully Wedded as a director for our reading.

Greg Brisendine (Poet)
Greg is an actor, playwright and poet in Seattle and is really happy for this encore performance of Lawfully Wedded! It was an amazing experience to contribute to this important work. He writes and performs on poetry slam stages across North America and is increasingly focusing on writing for the stage and acting.
Daniel Cords (Original Concept/Research)
Danny is passionate about theatre and education and is ecstatic when the two combine. Working on and off stage, Danny was last seen on stage performing the title role in a touring production of Andrew Lippa’s I Am Harvey Milk. Most recently, Danny directed Andrew Lippa and Rachel DeShon in The Seattle Men’s Chorus production of Legacy, which featured Lippa’s oratorio, I Am Harvey Milk. Danny is thrilled to be associated with Arouet and the powerful work they produce. Danny wants to thank Roy, Mariajose, John, Joshua, and the entire Arouet team for their relentless dedication and hard work.
Bruce Erickson (Actor)
WOW! I am so pleased and excited to be involved with the Lawfully Wedded project again. I enjoyed the process before of helping to create a wonderful piece of theatre, and now a chance to be performing it again, is just icing on the cake. Most recently Bruce was seen on as Edna Turnblatt in Hairspray. Bruce has been a part of the theatre community for over 30 years, having appeared in productions up and down the Northwest I-5 corridor. I am tremendously pleased to have this opportunity to work with Roy, the production team and this AWESOME cast again! It is important to stand up and be counted on such an important issue. In a small way we are here and are a part of the current changing history. As always a BIG thank you to my friends and family, especially my son Noah, who lets me play dress up with the BIG KIDS!
Caitlin Gilman (Playwright)
Caitlin Gilman is a local playwright and actress. Past productions include an adaptation of Calderon’s Life is a Dream at Ghostlight Theatricals, J.D Salinger is My God, which won the audience favorite award at Stone Soup’s “Outside the Box” festival, and Pretty Girls (co-written with Opal Peachey and Elizabeth Tanner). Look for her full length play My Dear Miss Chancellor at Annex Theatre this fall. She is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts.
Jared Holloway-Thomas (Actor)
Jared is a classically trained actor who attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He recently appeared in Arouet’s production of The Long Road and will be appearing in Green Stage’s Much Ado About Nothing this summer. Jared Holloway-Thomas has had a lifelong passion for theatre and hugs. He is thrilled to be rejoining Arouet.
Joshua Jon (Director)
Joshua is the incoming artistic director for Arouet, as well as a director, playwright, and singer-actor. He is currently directing Sidewinders with Fantastic Z, a transgender-existential-western-comedy performing at the Hugo House in July. Recent directing credits include Arouet’s Don Juan in Chicago, co-directing Seattle Immersive Theatre’s Supraliminal, and assistant directing Ghostlight Theatrical’s Life is a Dream. This year, you may have also seen his short plays Ballad of Mary Jo (Medicine Ball, Seattle Theatre Works) and Lulz (Fantastic Z).
Addie Keller (Actor)
Addie is thrilled to be working with Arouet for this special remount. Her past productions with Arouet include The Brick and the Rose and Lawfully Wedded. She has also been in A Christmas Carol at Auburn Ave Theatre and created several original works with her company Mirum Mirum Productions, (dis)Order and Doughnut Holes. Currently she is getting her Masters in Teaching for Elementary Education at UW where she will graduate this June. She hopes you enjoy the show and as always, thanks to her mother, father and sister for their continual support in her artistic endeavors.
Idalia Limón (Actor)
Idalia is happy to work again with the wonderful cast and crew of Lawfully Wedded. She has been keeping busy doing voice overs, local commercials, and short films. Her acting training background include UANL in her native México, AADA in NY and Freehold Theater in Seattle. She loves old school rollerskating and expressing herself through writing.
Morgan Ludlow (Playwright)
Morgan is the recipient of the 2013 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Original Script for his play, GORGEOUS HUSSY: An Interview with Joan Crawford. Morgan has produced more than 30 productions in the past 15 years. In 2008 he founded Wily West Productions in San Francisco and his play, RUTH AND THE SEA was listed as one of the of “Best Productions of 2010” by the SF Bay Times & KQED. Last year Wily West won the Theatre Bay Area Award for Best World Premiere. He has served as the Producing Director for the Playwrights Center of San Francisco. Morgan is currently the Artistic Director for Pacific Play Company here in Seattle while also running Wily West Productions in San Francisco. He is a member of Theatre Bay Area, Theatre Puget Sound and the Dramatists Guild of America.
Carissa Meisner-Smit (Actor)
Carissa has recently appeared onstage with the Driftwood Players, Seattle Fringe Festival, Second Story Repertory, The Phoenix, and Arouet. Favorite roles include Thelma (Lark Eden), Debra (Kimberly Akimbo), Genevra (Bright Ideas), and Velma (Chicago). She is also an active director and choreographer as well as producer.
Lisa Marie Nakamura (Actor)
Lisa Marie is happy to be a part of Lawfully Wedded 2015. She is an Executive Producer for SIS Productions and was last seen in their production of Impenetrable. Currently she is producing SIS Productions’ next project, Paper Angels by Genny Lim which will be opening in August. Lisa Marie would like to thank Arouet for all the good work they do and for letting her play. Thank you Roy and Joshua for their direction and to the wonderful cast.
Gabriel Sedgemore (Actor)
Gabriel is more than excited to be part of Lawfully Wedded again, even if for one night. It’s great to be back with some of the original cast and be working with new actors on such eye opening and heart-warming original plays.


































Greg Brisendine is a playwright, actor, advice columnist, performance poet, and corporate drone who lives in Seattle. He’s been an Arouet company member for more than a year contributing to company productions as both a writer and an actor. As a poet, Greg has competed in Poetry Slams locally and nationally for more than 10 years.
Alysha is honored and delighted to be a company member of Arouet. She was recently seen in The School for Lies with Sound Theatre Company and Sin, Sex & the CIA with Driftwood Players. Some favorite past shows include Tartuffe at SecondStory Rep, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at Seattle Public (twice), and I Dream Before I Take the Stand with Confrontational Theater Project. She studied Theatre at Seattle Pacific University where she is now on staff. #PrayForSPU [Love to her husband, Geb.]
Richard Sean Glen has three first names, a BFA in Theatre Arts from the University of Idaho, and a few theatre credits. His non-academic roles include that of the Porter in Macbeth (Animal Fire Theatre, Olympia, WA), Flavius in Timon of Athens, and Laertes in Hamlet (Moscow Art Theatre (TOO), Moscow, ID). He is excited to work with Arouet on such a fun project.
Max Holley (Actor) is thrilled to be making both his Arouet and Seattle theatrical debut! He recently moved to the city after receiving his BFA in theatre arts from the University of Idaho. While at UI, he performed in Twelfth Night, A Funny Thing… Forum, Winter’s Tale, The Good Person of Szechuan, and Almost, Maine to name a few. He actively participated in the regional Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival conferences, and was a semi-finalist in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Audition his junior year. In addition, Max has worked at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival for six seasons as costumer, as well as understudying roles for the main stage there. Max would like to thank Joshua Jon Christensen for introducing him to this great company, as well as Chris Martinez for giving him the opportunity to be part of this experience!
Jacquelyn Miedema spends her time traveling from rehearsal to auditions and back again. With a BA in Theatre Arts, she finds her greatest joy in writing and performing all around Seattle. Jacquelyn is a proud Associate Artist of the boundary pushing inter-arts gang, the Libertinis and a frequent collaborator with Fantastic.Z. Theatre Company. Past shows include I, Gelosi, Gone Wild! and p(ART)y! Much living thanks to her friends, family and fellow artists.

A midwest transplant, Laura is definitely not in Kansas anymore and is so happy to be a part of the Seattle theatre community. Laura has had the great privilege of working with the Seattle Shakespeare Co., ACT, Bathhouse Theatre, Market Theatre, Driftwood Players, Phoenix Theatre, and others. Shows have included everything from a rock-n-roll version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, to The Diary of Anne Frank, Steel Magnolias, and a one-woman USO show at the Museum of Flight. Her greatest privilege, however, has been working with Arouet and Roy in The Hen Night Epiphany and becoming an Arouet company member. Working with such talented people on such striking material is a dream come true. Thank you for the opportunity to grow and learn.
Kelly is very excited to be returning as a cast member to Arouet. Her most recent projects include: Ghostlight Theatricals’ Life is A Dream, KTO’s Seamarks, Arouet/TIP’s The Hen Night Epiphany, and STAGEright’s I Gelosi. Kelly studied theatre and music at Pacific Lutheran University. When she’s not in rehearsal, Kelly can be found trying to ‘Beat the Blerch’ in and around Seattle or getting out of town for a weekend with Vandyman.
Evan is a graduate of Western Washington University who has been acting in the greater Seattle area for the past five years. He has been seen in such shows as The Tempest (Ferdinand), A Chorus Line (Mike Costa), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Neville Landless), Richard III (Buckingham), and Wonderland: Alice Adventures (Gryphon) just to name a few. Many thanks to family and friends for their constant support of the addiction that is the stage.
Lisa is excited to be making her debut with Arouet. Recent roles include Samantha in Attack of The Killer Murder of Death at Theater Schmeater, Mattie Fae in August: Osage County with Balagan Theatre (Gregory Award for Outstanding Production), Ensemble in Dogg’s Hamlet/Cahoot’s Macbeth with Sound Theater Company and The One Minute Play Festival. She has also worked with 14/48: The World’s Quickest Theater Festival (Mazen Award Winner), Book-It Repertory, ArtsWest, Annex Theater, The Endangered Species Project and many more.
Mark is pleased to be making his debut with Arouet. He has performed in Undo at Annex Theatre, Picnic at ReAct, The Foreigner with Sound Theatre Company, Spring Awakening at Balagan Theatre, and The Salesman is Dead and Gone with the Splinter Group. Mark has also turned up in such happenings as the 14/48 Festival, the One-Minute Play Festival, and most recently, in Witness for the Prosecution with Theatre Anonymous.
His play Just A Rumor (co-written with Gary Lyons) was a semi-finalist at the Eugene O’Neil Playwright’s Conference and had developmental readings at New York’s Abingdon Theatre Company and London’s Menier Chocolate Factory. Other work includes Gold Diggers of the 1, 2, & 3 and Something To Dance About (also written with Mr. Lyons); Confessions of a Serial Egg Donor; Goddess of the Hunt; and The Phillie Trilogy. The third play in that trilogy, BBQ, was read at Benaroya Hall in June 2012, and the first play, Checking The Basement for Leaks, was part of the The Driftwood Players Short Play Festival in 2013.
Roy is thrilled to work with Doug in the world premiere of his play. Who would’ve thunk that what started as an acquaintance on an online theatre bulletin board ten years ago would become not just a great friendship but an artistic collaboration. With a background dance, choreography, and stage management, he has worked in various capacities at ArtsWest, Balagan Theatre, The Driftwood Players, Latino Theatre Projects, and SecondStory Repertory among others. This summer he makes his directorial debut with Book•It Repertory with their bilingual touring production of La Mariposa and as a virgin director with 14/48: Outdoors. He is Arouet’s Artistic Director and this past June was named Artistic Director of Seattle Musical Theatre.
Renee is thrilled to be working with such a talented cast and crew. She is also excited to be returning to her first love, directing. She most recently staged managed HONK! and Annie with Kitsap Forest Theater. Other recent stage managing credits include Clara, The Brick and the Rose, Little Women, The Broadway Musical, The Hen Night Epiphany, The Music Man, Murder on the Nile, and Harvey. Up next she will be doing dramaturgy for Arouet’s U.S. premiere production of The Long Road. Renee is a proud company member of Arouet. She would like to thank you for supporting local theatre.
Zach is very excited to be working with Arouet again after appearing as Leporello in Don Juan in Chicago. After getting degrees in Biology and Psychology from the University of Washington, he decided two fields of study wasn’t enough and started working in education as an assistant teacher while simultaneously returning to his roots in theater as an actor, director, and playwright. Most recently he finally got to mix all his interests together interning with Seattle Children’s Theater’s Drama School, and can’t wait to start working as a teaching artist. Enjoy the show!
This is Zach’s second show with Arouet, having designed lights for David Ives’ Don Juan in Chicago. Under the guidance of Nancy Lee-Painter and Suzie DuVal, Zach has developed a taste for simple designs that support the action, but never distract. For three years, Zach worked as an electrician and lighting designer for Idaho Repertory Theatre and Moscow Art Theatre (Too) in Moscow, Idaho. His past designs include Neil Labute’s The Shape of Things; William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Timon of Athens, and Hamlet; Caitlin Gilman’s adaptation of Pedro Calderón de la Barca’s Life is a Dream; David Harlan’s King of Fires; and many more. To become Zach’s friend, talk to him about comics.
John is a composer and producer whose work has appeared on dozens of albums and compilations as well as television, film and video games. In addition to writing and producing original music, John designs sound for theatre. He has worked with Arouet, ArtsWest, Driftwood Players, Latino Theatre Projects, Playwright’s Theatre, Play Factory, Redwood Theatre and Theatre 9/12. Live long, and prosper.
This is Nick’s second production with Arouet and he is so please and thrilled to be back. His first production with Arouet was assistant directing Don Juan in Chicago. “I could not have asked for a better first show here in Seattle.” He recently moved to Seattle after receiving his BS in Theatre Arts from the University of Idaho where he dabbled in a little bit of everything. Acting, directing, stage management, and costume design. Favorite past productions include, but are not limited to, Don Juan in Chicago (assistant director), Let’s Misbehave: The Music and Lyrics of Cole Porter (stage managed, IRT Summer Theatre) and Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter (costume designed and received a KCACTF Costume Design Meritorious Achievement award). A special thank you must go out to Joshua Jon for getting him involved with Arouet.
This is Kim’s fourth exciting season working with Arouet, having previously designed their sets for The House of Bernarda Alba, The Temperamentals and Don Juan in Chicago. This is her fourteenth production in total, working in Seattle and Vancouver BC. Kim is passionate about theatre and design and especially enjoys her work in the fields of theatrical, textile and industrial design. She is grateful for her continued collaboration with Arouet which she finds extremely inspiring and rewarding.
